Diving
The
Thorfinn has been operating in Micronesia for over 18 years amongst some
of the worlds finest shipwrecks. Diving across a 40 mile diameter tropical
lagoon, it offers comfortable diving for both novice and experienced divers.
As well as diving, the guides offer much historical insight and detail
of the sites visited. Thorfinn offers two separate dive stations to ease
crowding with only six guests per dive on any one wreck. Very environmentally
aware, Thorfinn does not attach itself to the dive wrecks and thus avoids
destruction of the fragile structures of coral formations. The SS Thorfinn
offers each diver the opportunity to explore up to 30 different wrecks
in 6 days. Divers can explore huge hulls virtually intact, sunken bounties
of bombs, torpedoes, guns, tanks, planes, mines, trucks, bulldozers and
huge cannon shells resting in the ghostly silence of Truk’s seabed.
Draped with vibrant soft corals and colourful tropical fish, they recall
a moment in time long to be remembered.
