MICRONESIA - Diving PALAU Paradise The island of Palau is located in the western group of Micornesian islands in the Pacific Ocean, 400 miles north of the equator. Jacques Cousteau visited the island in the 1960's and reported that the colourful underwater walls and drop offs were in his opinion “the best in the world”. There is a variety of accommodation to suit all budgets offering comfortable and clean living space in tranquil surroundings. Popular hotels include the Palau Pacific, West Plaza Resort and Caroline's Resort, each with its own unique beach or tropical rainforest backdrop offering twin bed accommodation, and most with ocean view. Dive packages can also be included with the locally run Fish n Finn Dive Centre.
Palau
also offers
Micronesia 's richest flora and fauna. The main town of Koror offers excellent
shopping and dining, and being the least populated island there are plenty
of isolated beaches to go to and a different dive site for every day of
the year! The Fish 'n' Fin Dive Centre The Fish 'n' Fin Dive Centre is one of the first and most experienced dive schools on the island, with many dive guides who actually discovered some of the dive sites and WWII wrecks. The 5 Star PADI resort offers a range of diving packages from novices to experts, each diver getting personal attention with dive itineraries to suit their individuals skills. There are many popular sites such as Jellyfish Lake and Mandarin Fish Wall amongst the many boat and plane wrecks. The Ocean Hunter dive vessel offers small group diving (max 6) and is equipped with cabin showers and toilets. Night dives, underwater photography and Nitrox can also be catered for. OCEAN HUNTER 1 The Ocean Hunter I has been specifically designed by divers, for divers. Unlimited diving is conducted off a spacious diving platform at the stern of the boat and hardly ever off a chase boat (so you can climb right back onto the boat when you’re done and take a warm freshwater shower!). Ocean Hunter I has three cabins with private bath and a/c, and accommodates up to 6 guests, which means un crowded reefs, ease of entry into the water, personal attention and maximized bottom time. Furthermore, the vessel is designed for professional underwater photography, with a big working area and more than 60 electrical outlets (110 and 220 volt), extra storage space, and E-6 processing available overnight. NITROX tanks and certification are available onboard. Our chef serves fresh low-fat gourmet cuisine. Built by the pioneer divers of Palau for others to explore Palau's waters, reefs, caves and wrecks for themselves in comfort and intimate luxury, Ocean Hunter I provides a high-class, unrivalled liveaboard experience for diving the true Palau. Please note that since we take only 6 divers, we are very flexible and customize the itinerary for each diver. We've had guests that have had 6 dives a day and some that were interested in 3 dives a day only. Diving Day: OCEAN HUNTER 3 Welcome to Ocean Hunter III, the latest addition to the Ocean Hunter Fleet in Palau. The boat will represent 25 years of knowledge in the liveaboard industry and like all of our liveaboards was designed by divers, for divers. Ocean Hunter III will be diving the reefs of Palau, plus special trips to places such as Yap. Ocean Hunter III has 6 standard cabins and 2 master staterooms all with private bath and a/c, and accommodates up to 16 guests with personal attention and plenty of space. There is a large dining room and a comfortable salon with sofas and an entertainment system. Furthermore, the vessel is designed for professional underwater photography, TV and Film production, with a sizeable working area, 110, 220 and 415 volt electrical outlets, extra storage space, and E-6 processing available overnight. Ocean Hunter III offers powerful PC’s for movie and video editing.
