CURACAO - Habitat Resort
The
south west coast of Curacao has some of the world’s best shore diving
and hence in 1996, the Habitat Curacao dive resort was created with divers
in mind. Situated in the quiet countryside of the south west coast of
Curacao in the Dutch Antilles 35 miles north of Venezuela, Habitat is
set in landscaped gardens with breathtaking ocean views from its junior
suites, all of which have air conditioning and kitchenette including fridge
and hob. There are complimentary shuttle transfers to the capital Willemstad
three times a day. The Ocean restaurant and bar offers excellent local
food plus a sociable daily happy hour. In addition to diving, mountain
bike hire is available and the dramatic landscape offers great trail walking
and hiking opportunities. Great for both new and experienced divers, the
full range of speciality courses are available at the onsite PADI 5* centre.
There is also a Photo Shop fully equipped for photo and video instruction
and E6 processing.

Diving
In
addition to having two 2-tank boat dives per day, Habitat offers the concept
of total diving freedom, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The divemasters
respect your skills and abilities, and leave you to free to plan and conduct
your own dives as you wish. The south west coast of Curacao has some of
the best shore diving anywhere, including Habitat’s house reef.
For millions of years reef has surrounded the island attaching to the
shore like a narrow fringe. The shallows house numerous soft corals, brain
coral and reef fish; further out drop offs and walls abound offering habitat
to numerous deep water fish including moray eels and barracuda. Sea turtles,
sting rays and nurse sharks all flourish in Curacao’s waters.
