BONAIRE – Captain Don’s Habitat

Diving
Capt. Don’s Habitat Dive Operation is centrally located within the resort complex for easy access from all rooms. They have three 1-tank boat departures daily and scheduled boat night dives to over 70 moored sights on custom built, diveboats. Each mooring buoy is limited to 1 boat so you’ll have the reef all to yourself.

Total Diving Freedom has always been the concept at Capt. Don’s Habitat. Over 50 world class dives are within a 15 minute boat ride. Diving Freedom means 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with no rush or anxiety. Take a giant stride off the resorts divers-only pier "baby dock" and you’re already looking at clusters of starlet coral, surrounded by colourful wrasse and gobies, and the drop-off starts in 30 feet, only a few kicks away. Shore diving is a must at Habitat and around the island of Bonaire rated as the top shore diving destination in the world! Following accepted safe diving practices, you can grab a tank and go....whenever you want!

The Habitat Dive Operation is not only a PADI 5-star Instructor Development Centre, but also a NAUI Dream Resort, SSI Referral facility, and TDI/SDI Instruction Centre equipped to handle all of your certification needs including Rebreathers and Tri-Mix. Choose from over 20 specialty courses! All needed equipment is available for rental or sale in the Captain’s Locker, which also has those last minute items you may have forgotten. Exposures Photo Centre provides guests with a full selection of the latest in photo and video equipment for rent or sale, personalized instruction, film processing, and private photo shoots. Its also a fun place to hang out and "talk photo" with the friendly photo pros. The Dive Centre also rents Trek 820 Mountain Bikes and Ocean Kayaks for the adventuresome.

BONAIRE – Buddy Dive Resort

The beautiful Dutch Antilles island of Bonaire offer the diver a chance to dive some of the Caribbean’s finest reefs in total freedom, without the constraints of a dive escort. Buddy Dive Resort is a first class diving resort set upon its own beach with magnificent views over the turquoise waters of the southern Caribbean. The resort comprises four modern buildings with one, two and three bedroom spacious apartments, a full service dive centre, two swimming pools, restaurant, pool bar, vehicle rentals and a dive-thru airfill station. All apartments have fully equipped kitchen, living area, airconditioned bedroom and large balcony or patio with ocean or tropical garden view. Airconditioned hotel rooms are also available. A short stairway provides easy access to the tranquil ocean – excellent snorkelling and swimming.

Diving

Bonaire’s sea abounds with beautiful marine life and a fascinating variety of multi-coloured tropical fish. The sea is remarkably clear and conditions are superb for both diving and snorkelling. The Bonaire Marine Park boasts more than 80 dive sites and the islands’ implementation of marine conservation efforts more than 30 years ago have helped to keep its marine system in good health. Visibility runs from 25 to 40 metres with average water temperatures around 27c. The fringing reef begins close to the shore, usually a short 30 ft swim or less, making Bonaire world renowned for its shore diving. Experienced divers can enjoy the freedom of the resorts’ unlimited airfill package, making as many dives a day as they want according to their profile.
