Teverina BassaCasa Fabbri Teverina Bassa used to
be on the on the old unmade route linking Rome with the north-east
coast of Italy. Part of the route includes an old Roman road - still
very visible and usable in many places. Since the building of a
proper road thirty years ago the road now just serves a few houses
and a big farm. The farming family now provide accommodation for
visitors in a comfortable four bedroom house with its own private
garden. The owners are delightful and very helpful. They live in
a farm house some 200 metres further down the road. The beautiful sheltered valley with views of hills and woodland means its always a quiet and relaxing place. Its east of Cortona (about 25 minutes) down a well kept gravel road that comes off the spectacular new road that runs along the ridge of the mountain. There is a small shop in nearby Teverina which also has a restaurant and there are other accessible places in both directions. Casa Fabbri can sleep
eight people. It's connected on one side to what were farm buildings,
now two other houses but it is quite private to itself, has its
own parking area, courtyard and garden. There is no pool as yet.
A charming house in a delightful setting. The big courtyard and
the attached gardens have wonderful views of the quiet farmland
and mountainous woodland. Lots of shade from mature trees, makes
a restful environment whilst still giving room for a boules court,
