The 'Islas Canarias' are a Spanish archipelago just 100km from the
coast of Northern Africa. They are a fascinating destination for
the traveller who will find there is much to be discovered beyond
the norm, both above and below the waterline. There are seven islands
in all, each of which is quite unique. From the surfers' paradise
of Lanzarote and Fuerterventura to Gran Canaria, described as a
full continent in miniature, to the small western isles, which are
green and mountainous, and not forgetting Tenerife, which has a
magic all its own.

Travel to the Canaries with an open mind and be continually impressed.
The islands reflect a very different side of Spanish culture to
that of the mainland, and the diving is excellent too! The islands
host 350 species of fish, eight of which are found nowhere else,
and six hundred species of algae for the slime hunters… in
open sea there are several species of whale and dolphin to be seen
including pilot whales and even the occasional orca – What
more could one want?
